Jitante stotrams are one of the oldest slokams. Jitante stotram is a Rigveda khilam meaning an unfrequented portion.
There are six Jitante stotrams namely Prathama , dwithiya , thritiya, chaturtha, panchama and shasta jitante stotrams.
The actual secret meaning, of the mantram called Jitante, was expounded by that omniscient sage bhagavan Saunaka. Sections of Jitante stotram are recited at the end of Bhagavath Aaradhanam.
